NYSC Registration Requirements for Foreign Graduates
The originals and photocopies of these documents are required for registration and mobilization of foreign-trained graduates into the National Youth Service Corps.
- First university degree or HND certificate.
- Complete official transcript of the first degree or HND course.
- Mark sheet (for Indian universities only).
- O’level certificate i.e., WAEC, GCE, SSCE, NECO, IGCE, GCSE, high school diploma for those schooled in the USA, etc.
- Nigerian international passport showing clearly.
- Entry visa to the country of study.
- Date of first departure from Nigeria or first date of entry into country of study.
- Date of return to Nigeria after the period of study.
- Data page(s) of the international passport(s) used during the period of study.
- Graduates with dual nationality are required to upload data pages of both international passports and present same for verification at the physical verification centre/orientation camp (where more than one passport were used during the period of study, the candidate should upload data pages of all the international passports).
- Where more than one international passports were used during the period of study, candidates should upload data pages of the international passports.
- Residence permit/visa covering the entire period of study.
Please note that:
- Downloaded certificates/transcripts, statement of results, and attestation letters are not acceptable.
- Persons who did TOP UP programme/course are required to upload their foundation certificate, e.g., APTECH, OND, NIIT, IMFORMATICS, etc.
- Medical doctors, optometrists, pharmacists, nurses, medical laboratory scientists, radiographers, physiotherapists and all other health-related professionals are required to produce their certificate of registration and practicing license from relevant bodies.
- Pharmacists are to present additional documents, such as oath and a letter of introduction from pharmacists council of Nigeria.
- Online result printouts are not acceptable in place of the original certificates, statement of results are also not accepted.
- Physical verification of all credentials uploaded by foreign graduates will take place at specific venues, dates and duration, as stated in the candidate’s dashboard.
- Those assigned call up numbers without first undergoing pre-camp physical verification would be verified at the orientation camp.
- Foreign trained corps members should not send their credentials home after preliminary registration in the camp until the credentials are physically verified by duly assigned officer(s) from NYSC, National Directorate Headquarters Abuja.
- Foreign trained corps members should also remain in the camp until their credentials are physically verified.
- Oxford Brookes, (ACCA), professional certificates, correspondence courses and certificates through online courses are not acceptable.
- Scanned or photocopies of credentials are not acceptable.
- Foreign graduates who are exempted from service must present all academic credentials and International Passport uploaded for physical verification at the Evaluation Division, Corps Mobilization Department, National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja before exemption certificate is issued.
- Foreign graduates who are excluded from service must also present all academic credentials and international passport uploaded for physical verification at the Evaluation Division, Corps Mobilization Department, National Directorate Headquarters, Abuja before exclusion letter is printed online.
- Foreign Trained graduates who are members of the Armed Forces, Nigerian Police, Nigerian Security Organization (NSO), Department of State Services, National Intelligence Agency (NIA) and Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA) are expected to upload their letters of enlistment, letters from their commands and service identity card while registering online.
NYSC Registration Steps for Foreign Trained Students
Here are the basic registration requirements and steps for foreign (international) trained graduates on the NYSC portal:
- Visit portal.nysc.org.ng to register.
- Only use Nigerian phone numbers during your online registration.
- Upload all original documents as required online. Failure to comply means you will not be evaluated.
- Do not create multiple accounts.
- Note that SSCE result uploaded must be equal to or greater than four (4) years.
- Contact the Federal Ministry of Education Abuja, if your institution of study has not been evaluated to get an evaluation letter.
- The Federal Ministry of Education has a portal for request of letter of evaluation. For institutions in Benin Republic, the institution process it for them.
- Select a centre and date for pre-camp physical verification during online registration and adhere to the selected centre and date strictly.
- All foreign-trained graduates must physically present themselves for pre-camp verification after they must have successfully registered online, alongside with original copies of their degree certificates, transcript and travel documents.
- You are to print your clearance slip after you have been successfully verified and present the same for registration at the various camps of deployment.
- If you are exempted from service, you will be notified when to collect your exemption certificate on your dashboard at the NYSC NDHQ, Abuja.
- Those excluded from service will print their exclusion letter on their dashboard online.
Foreign-Trained Graduates Physical Verification of Credentials and Travel Documents
This is to inform all foreign trained Nigerian graduates that after online registration for the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 service year, prospective corps members whose credentials and travel documents are yet to be physically verified should avail themselves for physical verification exercise scheduled to hold from Monday, 18th November, 2024 to Wednesday 20th November, 2024 at the Nine (9) designated centers.

NYSC Orientation Camp, Kubwa, Abuja.
4. Kano

5. Lagos
NYSC Orientation Camp, Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
6. Osun
NYSC Secretariat, New Ikirun Road, Osogbo, Osun.
7. Rivers
NYSC Secretariat, 40 Ikwerre Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers.
8. Sokoto
Eagle Officers Mess, Gingiya Military Barracks, Gusau Road, Sokoto.
9. Adamawa
NYSC Secretariat, Federal Secretariat Complex, Yola, Adamawa.
Locally trained graduates who are exempted from service should make sure they collect their exemption certificate on time from their institutions.
NYSC will only allow corrections within three (3) months from online registration.
While foreign graduates come to the NYSC headquarters with their original documents for clearance and collection of their exemption certificate.
Foreign graduate’s prospective corps members who registered online must go to camp with all original documents as uploaded online and translated version of your certificate.
Ensure you are verified by the verification officer before leaving the camp on any grounds.
Failure to comply leads to cancellation of registration and you will not be posted to the place of primary assignment.
Prospective corps members who are in the medical profession should come with their licenses to the orientation camp.
