The NYSC green card is an acknowledgement slip issued to prospective corps members after completing their online registration.
It serves as evidence of their readiness to take part in the National Youth Service Corps program in Nigeria.
Your online registration is not complete until you print out your green card slip.
After successful registration and payment online, it will take some hours days for your call up number to reflect on your dashboard.
Once a call up number has been uploaded for you, it means your card is ready.
This card is not literally a green color.
The word ‘Green’ only shows how important the document is as it gives you permanent access to packages such as kits in orientation camp.
It contains this information:
- Address and states visited.
- Course of study.
- Date of birth.
- Educational qualification.
- Gender.
- Kit specification.
- Name of the prospective corps member.
- Next of kin.
- NYSC call-up number.
- Payment receipt number.
- Phone number.
- State of origin.
- State of school attended.
The green card must be printed in color and presented at the NYSC orientation camp.
This card confirms your online registration and personal details, while the call-up letter invites you to take part in the program by going to your specified orientation camp.
Here are some things you can do with your green card:
- Verify your identity at the camp.
- Apply for a straight posting (if eligible).
- Apply for a waiver (if eligible).
- Apply for a deferment (if eligible).
Print NYSC Green Card Online
Here are the steps to print your green card on the NYSC portal online:
- Go to the NYSC portal.
- Log into your dashboard with your registered e-mail address and password.
- Click “Resume”, then scroll down and look for “Print Slip” button.
- Click “Print Slip”.
- Once you click on ”Print Slip”, a new screen will open up showing preview of your card.
- You will then see “Open” for those using phone (Google chrome browser), tap open and your card will download automatically in PDF format.
Take it to any café, or any business center and print.
After printing out the hardcopy, make photocopies and ensure to sign on it and take it with you to your orientation camp.
To reprint your green card after your online registration, go to a cybercafé and log in your account.
When logged in, go to your dashboard and visit the download page, then click the printing option.
Our foreign trained graduates might not get this card till after their evaluation and verification.
