JAMB Regularization for NYSC (Check Matriculation List)

JAMB regularization is crucial because you won’t be eligible for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program without a valid registration number.

If you got into the university or polytechnic without using JAMB, regularization helps you officially register your admission.

It makes sure your admission is recognized, and you can participate in NYSC and get your certificates without any problems.

Not all prospective corps members are required to undergo this regularization process.

Here are the list of candidates required to regularize their admission with JAMB:

  • Individuals who gained admission with JAMB registration number but don’t have admission letter.
  • Candidates who gained admission with JAMB registration number, but their admission letter contains a different course of study or institution name in contrast with the original course or school that offered them admission.
  • Late application candidates who gained admission without JAMB registration number e.g., Pre-degree.
  • Those who gained admission through direct entry (without taking the regular JAMB exam).
  • Those who did not collect JAMB form.
  • Those who don’t have registration number.
  • Those that were transferred into another course within the same institution.
  • Those who were transferred to another institution from the original institution they were offered admission into.
  • Those whose score was below cut-off mark and still got admission.
  • Those who underwent remedial programme.
  • Those who did part-time, sandwich, and attended Open University.
  • Students admitted without UTME (JAMB) scores or a valid registration number.
  • Students with incorrect UTME details that don’t match their admission records.

  • Check the confirmation page and note the Transaction ID.
  • Pay immediately with your card or use other channels like ATM, bank, or Quickteller.
  • Provide your correct exam year and JAMB registration number.
  • Fill out the application form online. Pay attention to mandatory fields.
  • Submit the form.
  • Print the indemnity form and take it to your institution for approval.
  • Your school will submit the approved form to the JAMB state office.
  • Once received, the approved form will be uploaded to your profile.

To ensure that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) validate your current admission status and details with the school that offered you admission complete this process as soon so you can have peace of mind before proceeding for your National Youth Service Corp program (NYSC).

While you are regularizing your JAMB, use a valid and active e-mail because a new registration number is usually sent to the particular e-mail used for the process.

The new registration number which would be sent to your e-mail after the regularization is processed can be used to check the JAMB matriculation list in order to verify if one’s details there are correct.

JAMB Matriculation List

JAMB is the only authorized body for the process of admissions into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

The JAMB matriculation list confirms your admission into a Nigerian tertiary institution through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board.

If your name is not on this list, it means your admission status is irregular and unrecognized by JAMB.

This renders you ineligible to participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program which every Nigerian graduate is mandated to do.

While foreign-trained graduates are exempted from this list, it remains an essential step for locally trained graduates.

Check Name Online

Follow these steps to confirm your name on the JAMB matriculation list:

  • Click here and go to the JAMB portal.
  • Select your examination year.
  • Input your JAMB registration number.
  • Click “Fetch My Details.”

If your name is on the list, your status will be displayed as “Congratulations, you are on the matriculation list.”

If your name is not on the list, you will get this response; “You are not on the matriculation list.

Here is what you need to do to ensure you name is on the list:

  • Login the JAMB e-facility platform.
  • Print your JAMB result slip and admission letter online.
  • Give it a few minutes and your name will be automatically added to the list.

If your name is still not added after these steps, submit copies of your JAMB admission letter and result slip to the student’s affairs office of your institution.

NYSC only mobilizes graduates whose admission name appear on the matriculation list.

There isn’t an official deadline to check your name, but it is highly advised to check it early.

Early detection and correction of any issue will make registration hitch-free.
