NYSC Allowance (Latest News and Payment Date This Month)
If you are serving this year as a corps member in Nigeria, your NYSC monthly allowance is ₦33,000.
This allowance is the same across all states.
Every corps member, regardless of their specialty, receives the same amount.
This sum is paid directly by the federal government through the NYSC management.
Your first payment will be towards the end of your orientation camp exercise.
You will be given a new bank account at your orientation camp.
This is the account your allowance will be paid into.
It always comes about 2-5 days before the end of the month.
Your allowance can also come in late some months.
Corps members’ place of primary assignments and their state of deployment often provide an additional stipend.
This allowance is variable, depending on several factors.
Any other sum corps members receive either from their PPA or state is entirely separate from the federal allowance.
Because of the demanding nature of their work and the associated risks, corps members serving in the medical field, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, often enjoy a higher stipend than other members.
These members are often exposed to deadly diseases and work longer hours.

Although we’ve tried to be as accurate as possible, we can’t guarantee that these figures are completely correct.
The allowance is paid by the federal government to corps members monthly to meet their needs and expenses.
While it is encouraging to see the additional support given to corps members, considering their crucial role in society, it is also essential to continuously advocate for fair and sustainable compensation for all corps members.
After all, every corps member contributes their skills and services to the growth and development of the nation.
NYSC Double Allowance Payment at the End of Service
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) does not pay double allowance to corps members at the end of service.
Corps members who leave their place of primary assignment, community development service, or miss official activities without permission from the officials may be required to serve an extended period of time with half pay.
NYSC double allowance occurs due to technical glitch caused by an error in the payment system.
This has been a major challenge to the management.
It is never a blessing to beneficiaries, rather a time bomb that will soon explode.
It is advised that any corps member who receives double or multiple stipends from NYSC should return it before his/her final clearance.
When you receive double payment from NYSC, it means another person’s allowance was paid to you.
The person whose allowance was paid to you will not receive his/her own money for that month except if you return the money.
If you don’t return the money, you will eventually be tracked and punished.
Report the matter to NYSC through your LGI.
Your LGI will direct you on how to return the money to the NYSC management.
Ensure that you collect a receipt or evidence of refund after payback.
