The camp can be stressful, especially for those who are not used to communal living, strict schedules, and physically demanding activities.

1. Niger State NYSC Camp

  • Dilapidated and overcrowded hostels.
  • Lack of proper sanitation facilities, including toilets and showers.
  • Located in a desert-like environment, with the weather always being hot and dry.
  • Mosquito friendly environment.
  • Water challenges a couple of times.

2. Sokoto State NYSC Camp

  • Basic amenities like water and electricity are often scarce.

  • The extreme heat, coupled with frequent sandstorms and dust, makes for an uncomfortable and potentially hazardous living situation.

3. Kwara State NYSC Camp

  • Far from the capital by at least two hours’ drive.
  • No provision for charging phones in hostels asides the market where you pay to charge.
  • The camp weather is hot.

4. Enugu State NYSC Camp

  • Old buildings which needs a lot of maintenance and renovation done.
  • Has a hilly topography and surrounded by mountain view.
  • Road trip to the destination is not a good trip due to bad road.
  • No cleaners in the hostel, everywhere is so dirty and irritating and smells so bad. The toilets do not flush.
  • The lack of good maintenance of the available facilities makes the environment very awkward.
  • The NYSC parade ground is not too nice as its infrastructure are old. The field is stony and it’s not fenced.

5. Cross River State NYSC Camp

  • Food is not top notch.
  • Hold enough provisions and money so you can buy food from Maami market.
  • Phone data network is poor here.
  • Poor infrastructure and the corps members rooms are too jammed.
  • Poor security.
  • Sun flies are ready to eat you for a living.
  • The camp is dusty during summer and the red sand is not very good for camp wear.
  • The food may not be satisfying in terms of quality and quantity so prepare yourself for some expensive “eat-outs”.
  • The water has oil residues on top and may itch your body if you have sensitive skin.

6. Ekiti State NYSC Camp

  • Poor structure as corps members have to receive their lectures under the tree.
  • Some rooms don’t have fan.
  • The camp needs more modern facilities for the comfort of the Nigerian youths serving their father’s land.
  • The prices of services rendered within the premises is doubled and sometimes tripled the normal rate.
  • Too much cold during harmattan.
